DO NOT FEAR THE INTENT  (Use it to promote your training)

Part 1

All we were born with is basic psychophysical fear response;  we all were not the recipient of character weakness’ this is from our own resolve and the way we choose to live.  We can only learn from two basic fear choices fight or flight, our response can be either voluntary or can be trained with the correct methods.

How we reacted in the past to fear response will change and modify our reactions now. So when the fear response starts to manifest, accept this welcome this and then use it.

Use it to explode into action as we choose the fight response:

Do not dismiss your fear, the chill of the spine, the shortness of breath.

More focus should be trained on our offensive (INTENT):

We ignore the fear and also the fear of pain;

As adrenalin floods our system, our tolerance to pain quadruples. Pain is cheap, easily dealt with and quickly forgotten.

Use our intent to be passive non aggressive then ‘’boom’’ explode into the very face of any threat that may present itself.

Some may call this combative mind set, we will call it INTENT.

We must develop simple and effective combat skills which we can execute without error and instinctively without conscious deliberation. We must mentally condition ourselves to react to the intent of our opponent or opponents.

If we must fight we must have the intent to fight and the intent to win.

In any fight, time is always at a premium make all reactions simple,

So simplicity of all combative response is essential:

There is no such thing as a fair real fight;

We look for the chink in the Armour the feint to get surprise on our opponent,

We will always be trying to better the opponents response or action.

Appearance and how you fight will not be judged in a real fight;

In all situations, we can remain calm and be aggressive at the same time.

This mind set is called INTENT:

Set your self realistic expectations in the quality of your Balintawak training

But also motivation and confidence are the biggest contributors to Balintawak INTENT.

The quote that follows is from a very good book on self defense

And should ring true in many ears:

All fair fights are for fools and sportsmen
